Information – The Best way to Get Ready for a Photo Shoot!

Here’s some tips for preparing for your photo shoot

1 ) Choose a great location…my ultimate goal is to capture you being you! Find someplace you love, where you’ll be comfortable
–When choosing a location , remember the place with equal amounts of shade and sunlight provide the best opportunities for pics.
—If you can’t decide or would like us to pick a location, that’s find as well

Some Examples of great locations:
I always have my eye looking out for a beautiful background. This photo is STUNNING!

A beautiful park in your area

Fall is always a great time to get the family together

Capturing the photo at the right time to get vibrant lighting

Bridges small or large make great backgrounds

Here’s a unique location with a really cool couple

Know where a small stream or lake is near by:

Maybe out on the family farm:

maybe all the grand kids are sitting on the steps of a farm shed and they find something amusing…didn’t that make a sweet pic?

If it happens to be raining in the city, I’ll use a parkade.. I love the look of steel and concrete, I’ve shot many family & couples shoots in them

There’s always neat place you can find in any city, you just have to look…find someplace you love! or means something to you.

It could be as simple as your back yard

Or maybe there’s a unique old tree in your area

2 )2) Bring a prop with you… balloons, chalkboards, chair, hats, vehicles, signs, hot chocolate, blankets, coloured smoke bombs, pets, sunglasses, vintage suitcases ,anything that is personal to you. Maybe something cool and vintage or bright and funky. Or nothing-its your choice

Maybe grab a piece of dried grass…ha ha! How adorable is this little guy!

Or the old car sitting in your neighbors yard (thinking you should ask 1st)

Some wine and glasses, love the lake in the background, it was just around sunset when this pic was taken

a little car prop of mine

How about all the family by that old farm truck that dad used for years…how many times did you ride in it? Can you just imagine a large sized wall art on your walls? What great memories to have!

Maybe you know someone with a plane in the hanger at your local airport? Or outside in the lot

It could be as simple as picking wildflowers when you think no one is looking

They were celebrating a milestone, hearts and flowers…so romantic

Maybe you can persuade uncle or dad to bring his old prize muscle car to burn some rubber

How about your loved and cute pet…your bestie!

Your totally rad truck is a great prop, show it off.

Buy some smoke bombs and have some fun with colors, Here we went down a country road just outside of town

Daddy’s and Mommy are hunters and wanted these props with their daughters newborn shoot…I’m sure she’ll grow up to be one too

Motor cycles and vehicles are sweet prop

A baby carriage with mom ready to POP…this a late sunset shoot. Look at the mist forming at the back in the swamp…Priceless!

A unique mask on a stylized photo shop is fabulous, adds alot of interest and intrigue in this image

3) Your outfit- is very important.

You need to be comfortable, while also looking your best. Be the BEST version of you. Be stylish, show the bold side of your personality! Put a outfit on that your celebrity alter-ego would wear!! And ACCESSORIZE …jewelry, hats, whatever. Bring a couple wow outfits if you’d like.

A few examples:4) Try a Color Scheme for Everyone to Wear

4) Professional hair and make up…what makes the difference between a good picture and a STUNNING picture. …great hair and make up- be the best version of yourself. I want you to look and feel like a model walking down the runway! You don’t do a photo shoot every year, so go all out for this one. Pro make up artist know the tricks, like where to highlight and contour to help accent your best features. They know how to make you look BAM!!!

A before and after

I always do a glam shot of the mom or gal when I’m shooting any kind of session.

A vintage shoot with mother & daughter…When was the last time you did something like that with your children? Making Memories!

No matter how long you’ve been married or how many children you have, it’s always great to have a couples photo…after all that’s how the family story all began.

5) Be on time: your session time is precious, if your late, you lose out on extra photos we could have taken…because there’s a good chance that another session is booked right after yours and it would be unfair to them to cut into their time slot.

6) 7) Posing- Individuals …I know you’ll be a little nervous at the start but no worries as during your session I will be giving you direction and guidance , there are also times I will just ask you to walk around, be in the moment. Laugh, jump, do your own thing

For families I will throw some idea’s out there and just let you all make it your own, thus creating some great memories of you interacting as a family! Your chemistry will flow resulting in a wonderful loving moment captured. Whatever you’d normally do with your family, do it in front of the camera. Have some fun, let us capture true interaction between you.

In the digital age we live in, everyone has a camera…we have all capture images, not in the best light or best angles, sometimes with warped faces. It’s important to have a pro capture your family every few years. We know how to put a group together so that everyone is shot at their best angles, we also air brush so everyone looks their very best. We’ll create some family photos that you will be proud to put up on your walls…. your own wall art that means something to you instead of that photo of a flower vase or abstract.
