Saskatchewan & Manitoba Wedding Photographer- Fabulous Thanksgiving Wedding in Regina, SK

After 14 years of photographing weddings, I’ve leant that you never know what kind of weather you’ll end up with on Thanksgiving weekend. We’ve had snow, rain and +36 in the past, so this weekend was a little cold but beautiful! We started off with Daphne and the girls at the Regina Ramada Plaza, then off the the guys.
Their ceremony was held at the Living Hope Alliance church, it was beautiful.
Then off to Bonzinis for a few drinks, and some fun at the pool table.
From there we took Daphne and Greg to the Stone Hall Castle, amazing place! The wedding party joined us in a bit and we were off to do the horse photo.
There’s a story how all this came about…Daphne’s dream since she was a little girl was a photo of her on a horse in her wedding dress on her wedding day. She had made all the arrangements but a few days before her wedding, the people she’d made arrangements with had a family funeral on Saturday and couldn’t find anyone else to open up the stables for her. Daphne was heartbroken to say the least. So I put my thinking cap on ( he hee) and thought of one of my 2017 brides from Regina that had a awesome horse. So I took the chance and asked Jessica if she would help Daphne out and she said ” yes” What a doll she was to go out of her way to make Daphne’s dream come true, she even made arrangements to use her friends large yard! Mini (the horse) handled so good, and Daphne had never rode a English saddle before but in spite of this, the photos turned out amazing as you will see below! Here’s a peak at their special day…

A little about how they met: from Greg

We met through my buddy who owned a restaurant whom Daphne worked for. He kept on telling me about this good looking girl he had hired and that I should come and check out. So when I finally did come by to see her she was wearing a sweatshirt and some baggy clothes and wasn’t as appealing as my friend had described so needless to say I had a high expectations when I first met her.
We didn’t talk that first time around but the 2nd time I came by she was definitely far more appealing and attractive and I said to myself, wow…shes beautiful and hot!
That time we chatted and we got to know each other better and got a sense of how sincere of a person she was.
After she ended up quiting the restaurant we didn’t talk or see each other for months until I checked out her profile on facebook and messaged her. We talked for a few days on facebook until I invited her over to my place in which she agreed and ended up talking to the wee hours of the morning.
After that we would walk around Wascana lake for weeks getting to know each other and then our relationship blossomed from there. We have honestly been through some serious ups and downs together and challenges that most relationships never see and probably wouldn’t have endured but we have fought through them and are still standing today which I think is a testament to our love for each other and how much we are each others best friend.
I could sit here and type pages of what we have went through but at the end of the day we are meant for each other and were meant to cross paths and meant to be together for the rest of our lives. I truly believe we are each others person. I look forward to taking my last breath as an old man looking into the eyes of my wife, my partner in life, my best friend…my Daphne.
